I am starting a series about adsense. I want to include almost everything that I know about adsense.
Lets start with a question, what is Adsense?
Adsense is a advertising network which delivers contextual/relevant advertisements to your blog or website. By having google´s contextual ads webmasters or bloggers can earn money.
What is contextual ads?
Contextual ads mean, advertisements related to your blog or websites content. For example, if you look at the advertisements of this blog, then you will notice advertisements about money making, blogging and about adsense. These ads are being delivered because, my blogs content are related to blogging tips, money making methods and adsense.
How can one apply for Adsense account?
If any of you want to apply for Adsense account, click here, fill the informations about you and about your website and send it to adsense. Adsense will review your application, website and then will send a mail to you about their decision.
Make sure that your website is not related to any of the following things,
- Violent content, racial intolerance, or advocacy against any individual, group, or organization
- Pornography, adult, or mature content
- Hacking/cracking content
- Illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia
- Excessive profanity
- Gambling or casino-related content
- Content regarding programs which compensate users for clicking on ads or offers, performing searches, surfing websites, or reading emails
- Excessive, repetitive, or irrelevant keywords in the content or code of web pages
- Deceptive or manipulative content or construction to improve your site's search engine ranking, e.g., your site's PageRank
If your site/blog is accepted then you can start to place adsense code in your blog or site. But before doing that, just read about what are the things you should know for not getting banned by adsense.
- Don't click your own ads
- Don’t ask others to click on your Google ads
- Don´t direct user attention to the ads via arrows or other graphical gimmicks
- Do not place misleading images alongside individual ads
- Do not promote sites displaying ads through unsolicited mass emails or unwanted advertisements on third-party websites
- May not compensate users for viewing ads or performing searches, or promise compensation to a third party for such behavior
- May not place misleading labels above Google ad units - for instance, ads may be labeled "Sponsored Links" but not "Favorite Sites"
- Sites showing Google ads may not contain pop-ups or pop-unders that interfere with site navigation, change user preferences, or initiate downloads.
- Any AdSense code must be pasted directly into webpages without modification. AdSense participants are not allowed to alter any portion of the code or change the behavior, targeting, or delivery of ads. For instance, clicks on Google ads may not result in a new browser window being launched.

How much one can earn from adsense?It depends on how much clicks and traffic you get to your blog or website. There are many people who earn 100´s of U.S. dollars per day. There are some people who earn in 6 digits per annum. But to earn that much money you must get at least 1000 unique visitors per day. If your blog is getting 50-100 unique visitors, you cant expect to earn 100$/month.
As google say, if you concentrate on providing unique quality content, getting traffic and making money will be lot easier.

Can I use adsense and other contextual adnetworks (Yahoo Publisher Network, Clicksor etc) on same page?No, you shouldn't do that. It is against google´s TOS. You will get banned if you do that.
Can I use Adbrite ads and Adsense ads on same page?Yes, one can use adbrite ads and adsense ads on same page.
Can I use Adsense ads and amazon ads on same page?Yes, you can use them on same page.
What is CPC ?CPC - Cost Per Click . How much money a click earns for you.
What is CTR ?CTR - Click Through Ratio. This is ratio between number of clicks and number of impression.
What is eCPM ?eCPM - Effective CPM. Cost per 1000 impressions. This is calculated by dividing total earning number of impressions in thousand. For example if you earn 5$ for 2500 impressions, then the CPM is 2$. From this one can realize how good their conversion is.
Will my blog get accepted if I am under 18?Yes, but you need to sign up with your parent/Guardian name, address and the payments will be made to their name.
